Paul has a round to
remember at Dunmurry

Paul McMeekin had a round to remember last Saturday at Dunmurry Golf Club, to capture the Suffolk Cup.

On a day of high scoring, fifteen handicapper, Paul was top of the pile with a superb 43 points, but he was pushed all the way by a number of excellent scores.

Paul was solid throughout his round, mixing five bogeys with three pars and a birdie over the front nine, giving him 22 points. That form continued over the back nine, six pars, two bogeys and a double bogey, which helped him to 21 points for a winning 43 point total courtesy of count back.

Vinod Tandon (15) narrowly missed out on top spot, settling for second, after he too amassed 43 points. He made all of his scoring over a remarkable front nine of 24 points, which included failing to score on the eighth.

Vinod parred his first three holes before a birdie at the long fourth. Three more pars followed before his blemish on eight, but a par at nine secured his 24 points. His form continued into the back nine, registering pars at the tenth and eleventh.

He dropped a shot at twelve before running up an ugly double bogey seven at the thirteenth. Two pars and three bogeys over his final five holes meant a steady 19 points to finish on 43 points.
