Peggy Nelson Qualifying at Bushfoot GC

Alice Trufelli won the low section of the Peggy Nelson Qualifying event at Bushfoot GC with a score of 34 points off her handicap of eleven.

Her birdie two at the second was a boost but it was taken back with a no score at the fourth. Alice ran out the nine with 16 points bagged. She then embarked on a very good back nine with just two blemishes, another blank at thirteen and a closing double bogey six. This shows how well she played the other seven holes as eighteen points came from them for her 34 total.

In the middle section it was Jayne Hughes who topped the chart, again with 34 points. After blanking the opening hole Jayne settled to score well until two one pointers at eight and nine appeared to spoil the party resulting in a nine hole score of just 14. Better was to come as a few good pars and no blanks gave Jayne another 20 for the card.

Joan McKillop took the honours in the high section with yet another 34 pointer. Joan scored four points at the first and some three pointers followed but a few blanks had slipped in as well and all this meant a front nine total of 17. Joan had a similar pattern for the back nine where ten and fifteen gave up eight points between them to help her recover from a couple of poor holes and add 17 for her qualifying 34 points. The Ladies will represent Bushfoot Golf Club at Dumurry Golf Club on Monday 22nd July.
