An added attraction for amateur golfers is the winner’s invitation to play in the prestigious Northern Ireland Open, which takes place in August.

Valerie Penney, store director, Ballymena Specsavers, said: “We have supported this annual strokeplay competition since 2009.

“It’s a fantastic tournament in its own right, always attracting a full field of 60 competitors.

“The bonus of being able to win the opportunity to play in the European Challenge Tour event at Galgorm in August is an amateur’s dream and gives this strokeplay competition a real edge,” added Valerie.
