It dozen get any better than this for Paul!

RECORDS went tumbling in the recent Slemish Bowl qualifying, sponsored by Lindsay Ford, at Ballymena Golf Club where Paul Francey spreadeagled the field with a nett score of TWELVE under par!

Unfortunately for Paul, preferred lies were still in operation and therefore it won't count as a true record but it is certainly a score he will never forget.

Playing off nine, Paul went through the first nine in one under gross, with a birdie at nine after eight straight pars. A tremendous second nine saw one bogey with three birdies for a gross total of three under and a nett score of 56.

Second nett was Roy Warwick (20), with the best of the nett 60s, from Kevin McGarry (10).

Roy added to a five over gross front nine with a seven over second nine. McGarry was three under on the outward nine – which included two twos in the opening four holes – but shed five shots on three holes on the second nine.

Dylan Cole (19) was fourth nett with a score of 61, dropping six shots on each nine, while fifth was taken by JG Lynn (13), whose nett 62 included a 4,3,3,3 finale which was enough to relegate Ryan Hamill (16) into sixth place after equal nines of five over gross.

The best gross card came from up-and-coming youth Adrian Gough who, off five, played the course in two over.
