Ballymena were desperate to end the campaign on a high note but it took them some time to get into their stride and they found themselves having to defend against a hungry Ballyclare side.

Ballymena upped their efforts in the second half to win several penalty corners. One of these resulted in a flick but the effort was spurned with the Ballyclare keeper making a good save.

Ballymena’s opening goal came from a well practiced penalty corner where the ball was deflected in by Becky Reynolds on the right post.

Within 10 minutes of the first goal the attack were right back up putting pressure on the ballyclare defence and were rewarded with a penalty corner for their endeavour. Another clinically practiced corner allowed Becky to score her second.

The girls would like to thank all the support they have received over the whole season, to captain Clare Gillespie and coach Mary Glass.
