Ladies take to grid at Raceway for charity race

WE’VE all heard the less than complimentary comments about women drivers, but the girls get an opportunity to prove those theories wrong at Ballymena Raceway on Friday evening (April 26) - and all for a good cause!

The ladies will compete for the Queen of Speed Trophy in a special charity event to raise money for Cancer Focus Northern Ireland.

Around 15 brave souls are expected to participate and keen to show they can drive every bit as well as the men!

The ladies will race in borrowed GP2 cars while the nervous owners look on from the sidelines, worried about their pride and joy - whether that is their partner or their car we’re not sure!

ORC Lightning Rods, Speed Stocks, Saloon Stock Cars and Junior Rods complete the busy schedule, with the first race getting underway at Ballymena Showgrounds at 7:15pm.
