Latecomer Damian scoops Kennedy Rosebowl at the Port

AT Portstewart on Saturday, Paul Campbell, Michael Thompson and Eamon Mulholland were one short for their game on Saturday and had to persuade 12 handicap Damian Campbell to take part.

The other option for Damian was work, so he joined in!

He dropped five shots for the first three holes and wondered if he had made the right choice but a sequence of seven pars and one birdie on the return nine convinced him as he ran out as winner of the JB Kennedy Rosebowl.

He had a total of 37 points and a back nine of 22.

All of these were needed as there were six more 37 pointers from Fergal Stewart, David Avery, Frank Scullion and Davy Moore.

Kevin Doherty, a qualifier for the Moore-Browne Cup, and President Bertie McAuley had 36 points each.
