McKinstry continues to make ‘Mark’ in early weeks of season

FIT N Running athlete Mark McKinstry continued his fine early season form on the road when he claimed a third successive podium finish at the weekend in Belfast.

Going in the Addiction 10k at Ormeau Park in an event staged over the Seeley Cup course Mark produced a massive 2 min 50 secs personal best.

This was good enough to give the Fit N Running athlete third place from a field of over 100 starters with a time of 37 mins.

For the second successive week Connor McQuillan finished top junior at the Ecos Parkrun.

He also claimed second place overall in 17 mins 58 Secs from an overall entry of 111 runners.

Also in action was Connor’s father Chris, of Ballymena Runners, who finished in 26 mins 3 secs.

CLUB TRAINING

Fit N Running are based at the Michelin Athletic Club in Ballymena.

They train on Tuesday evenings at 6.15pm. There is also a session on Saturday mornings at 9.15am.

The club cater for the full range of runners from beginners, juniors though to intermediate and advanced athletes.
