Net gains for Blair and Kelly at Captain’s Day

Paul Blair and Ricky Kelly won the recent Larne Bowls and Lawn Tennis Club’s Tennis Section Captain’s Day competition.

The pair, who defeated Eric Cameron and Tommy Noteman 4-2 in the final, were presented with the trophy by 2015 captain Julie Jenkins.

The duo topped a field of 13 doubles pairings who were split into two sections at the tournament.

At the club’s prize-giving Johnny McRandal won Male Player of the Year and Jane Cloke won Lady Player of the Year. Blair was presented with the Captain’s Prize for outstanding service to the Tennis Section throughout the year.

Club finals day is on Saturday (September 12) and a charity fund-raising day is being held on September 26 for Laurel House, Northern Health Trust.
