PBs keep on coming for Fit N Running members

Fit N Running athletes have continued their rampant run of progression with another string of personal bests and impressive performances.

The tireless Mark McKinstry added another race victory to his impressive running CV at Balyboley Forest park last Tuesday evening.

In the opening race of the East Antrim Harriers Forest series Mark was in a class of his own as he swept around the undulating course to break the tape in 22mins 55secs.

Three nights later, Mark was accompanied by the ever improving James Wallace at the Les Jones 10k.

To date this year the duo have been relentless in their Personal Best count and kept their record intact with two more improved times.

Mark was first home in fifth place clipping an impressive 49 secs off his previous best to finish in 34 mins 9secs.

James notched up a nine second improvement when he finished in 38mims 9secs in 22nd place.

ULSTER SCHOOLS FINALS

Two of the club’s juniors were in action at the Ulster schools finals staged at the Antrim Forum.

Connor McQuillan went in the U17 boys 3000 Metre s and recorded a 2 sec pb when he finished an impressive 5th in 9 mins 49 secs.

Rebecca Wallace equalled her best of 1min 39secs when she finished 7th in the U13 girls race.

Connor McQuillan was also in action at the Manchester 10k. He excelled on the big stage as he recorded a 1minute 43sec pb to finish in 37mins 16 secs.
