Running club awards night

Alison McAlister and Fran McFadden joint winners of the Female Athlete of the Year. (S)

The Female Athlete of the Year awards was shared by Alison McAllister and Fran McFadden and Bryan Edgar won the Male Athlete of the Year.

Tom Grant won the Clubperson of the Year. The Rankin Athletic Endeavour Awards were presented to Catherine Pinkerton-Moore and James McMullan. Trophies for the Newcomer of the Year in each area where presented to David McAfee, Ballymoney; Stephen Fillis, Coleraine and Kerrie McIlmoyle, Limavady. The Tenderfoot Award was presented to Sharon Bingham.

The Road Race Championships for both male and female senior athletes was held over 5K, 5 mile, 10K, 10 mile, Half Marathon and Marathon distances. For an equal chance, race times were age graded. Gold, Silver and Bronze medals were presented for each distance.

In the Springwell Challenge Cup age graded times were again applied and the trophy went to Karen McLaughlin and Bryan Edgar.
