Snooker: High five for St Comgall’s as they see off Ballyclare

St Comgall’s are two points clear at the top of the Larne and District Snooker League after a fine 5-0 home win against Ballyclare Old Boys.

C. O’Toole, A McIlwaine, Gary Johnston, Dean McDonagh and Anthony McCorry won their frames to secure their tenth win of the season.

Ballyclare Golf Club ‘A’ sit two points behind after a 3-2 away success at Latharna. J. McKay (40), Stevie Higgins (26) and Darren Agnew won for the golfers. Billy Millar and Gavin Carmichael, with breaks of 29 and 34, responded for the Point Street side.

Frames for M. Kane, R. McCrudden and Andy Lilley means Q-Club now have 35 points after a fine 3-2 victory over St John’s. Adrian McKee and Sammy Guiller won for St Johns.

Linfield had a walkover as Carrick ‘A’ failed to field a team, while The Point maintained their good form as they overcame Ballylumford 3-2. S. Girvan (33), Roy Logan (21) and Eddie Carson all won for The Point, with P. Wylie and Jim Magill winning for Ballylumford.

Carrick ‘B’ recorded a strong 3-2 win over neighbours Greenbank ‘A’. Harry Wade, Tommy Bond and Mikey Jones all were on target with P. McCaffrey and Wayne Harper winning for the Sunnylands team.

Greenbank ‘B’ sit second-bottom after a 4-1 defeat against Ballyclare ‘B’. Roy Johnston was the only winner, as his team watched Ian Wallace, Jim Taylor, B. Irvine and J. Crockard securing wins for the Golf Club.
