The Spirit of Euro 88 key to beating England- O’ Callaghan

Ireland lock, Donncha O’ Callaghan, believes the spirit of Euro 88 and other famous Irish sporting victories over England in the past is key to beating Stuart Lancaster’s side on Saturday in the RBS Six Nations Championship at Twickenham.

Ireland have dominated the fixture over the last decade, winning seven of the previous eight encounters in the Six Nations, including three of the last four at Twickenham and O’ Callaghan believes that famous Irish victories such as Ray Houghton’s goal in Stuttgart and his strike against Italy in Giants’ Stadium in USA ‘94 could inspire and Irish win this weekend.

England name their squad to face the Irish on Thursday but Leicester fly-half Toby Flood has already been left out of the starting line-up.
