Thirds display impressive skills against Cookstown
The match got underway well for the Toon with a brilliant and well defended first half with the experienced defensive players Sabrina Moore, Lisa Burns, Maria Doherty and Debbie Campbell shining though.
There was excellent play around the back and the defence worked well to help the ball up the pitch. The team settled in together within the first ten minutes and made several great plays up the right hand side, between Eva Carson, Ellen Alexander and Maria Doherty. Eva made several crosses into goal which were just missed by the forwards.

Hide AdThe second half saw the team worked well together to get the ball up both sides of the pitch with several breaks and shots at goal which the forwards were unlucky not to covert. The team played a strong and fast match and it ended with a 0-0 draw, however it was a great game of hockey with the younger players on the team showing great skills. Player of the match went to centre forward Sarah Holden. The team would like to thank Rob Harris for umpiring. Ballymoney Thurd XI will be hoping to build on this performance when they face North Down at the weekend.
