Ulster title success earns NI call-up for athlete Jarlath

THERE was double success for a duo of Ballymena based athletes at the recent Northern Ireland & Ulster junior/intermediate cross country championships held at Scottstown, County Monaghan.

In form Ballymena & Antrim athlete Jarlath Falls produced a determined display with a gun to tape victory over a demanding course to claim the much coveted individual title.

This made up for the disappointment of last year when Falls missed out narrowly on the title when he was pipped on the line and had to settle for second place.

This fine victory has earned him a call up to the Northern Ireland senior international team for the forthcoming International cross country event at Greenmount Antrim.

Also celebrating a successful day at Monaghan was Gregory Walsh who was part of a strong North Belfast Harriers team who powered their way to a resounding victory in the team event.
