Victory for Ballymoney Thirds

BALLYMONEY Thirds continued their good home form with another win at the Kilraughts Road this week against Lisburn Thirds.

Previous meetings between the two had ended in the ref blowing up early and this week was no different.

With 10 minutes still to play and the toon men 74-15 up the ref took pity on the travelling side and brought the encounter to a conclusion.

Standout performances from the team were focused on a pack that turned ball over in the loose and won scrum and lineout against the head. Notable performances in the pack came from William Hazlett who made great yards down the middle of the pitch and Neil Campbell who claimed a hat trick of tries.

The backs used the ball well showing flare and finess that entertained and amazed the small watching crowd. Captain of the side, Gareth Rankin, was happy with the dominant performance his side showed and is excited with the style of rugby that the Thirds are now playing. The toon men hope to keep the Kilraughts Road venue as a fortress this year and look now to next week when they travel to play City of Derry away.
