Boost for Portstewart as MUGA and new cafe are approved
The planning committee agreed with the planners recommendation for approval, despite objections from several local residents about the potential noise, litter and odour issues surrounding the development. Permission was granted with restrictions put on opening hours of the proposed facility to ensure minimum disruption to residents.
At the same meeting, permission was granted for the construction of a new MUGA (Multi use Games Area) at Juniper Hill Caravan Park, Portstewart.

Cllr John Finlay raised concerns about whether or not the caravan owners had been notified about this development. Planning officer Shane Mathers said that no objections had been received.
