Detailing the incident, a PSNI spokesperson said: “At some point between 5pm on Saturday, February 18 and 9am on Sunday, February 19 this fire extinguisher was thrown into the rear of a garden on Carnduff Drive, Ballymena from the Church Street Carpark area. The elderly owner of this property had a large greenhouse, which has had four glass panels on its roof broken due to this.

“Not only is somewhere now without a life-saving fire safety device, but a pensioner also has to replace these expensive panels. Not such a funny joke in most people’s opinion.
