Police treating Coleraine incident as hate crime

Police are treating graffiti daubed on a wall in Coleraine saying ‘no refugees welcome’ as a hate crime.

The graffiti was sprayed on a wall of the Salvation community church on the Ballycastle Road.

Inspector Donna Bowden said: “We are treating the matter as a hate crime.

“Anyone with any information that may assist our investigation is asked to call police on the non-emergency 101 number. Or you can contact Crimestoppers in confidence on 0800 555 111.”
