ATHLETICS: Downey first home for Harriers at Carlingford Half Marathon
Five County Antrim Harriers travelled to County Louth on Saturday for the Carlingford Half Marathon, organised by 26 Extreme.
The challenging but scenic course, which started and finished in Carlingford village, was made even more challenging by the strong headwind the 1,200 runners had to battle against for the final four-mile coastal stretch of the race.
However, the Harriers’ winter preparation and training paid off. First home for the club was a delighted Irene Downey in 1:53:41.
