Carniny Youth Under 11s played their first match in the Lisburn Youth League on Saturday when they battled out a 4-4 draw with TW Braga.

The Under 13s 14s and 17s were all on the wrong end of results against Ballinamallard Youth, Limavady Youth and Crusaders respectively.

The club would like to congratulate to former player Matthew Shevlin who recently moved to Ballymena United on scoring for the BUFC Reserves last Saturday.

The 15 year old striker was leading goal scorer for six consecutive seasons at Carniny Youth and looks set to continue that form.

Carniny 4, TW Braga 4: Carniny started well and opened the scoring after three minutes when Sean Condron’s lovely cross found Diego Fletcher.

Braga equalised on seven minutes but Carniny regained the lead when Harry Foster headed home.

Braga levelled early in the second half and although Ryan Clarke found the net with a 25-yard effort, Braga again equalised.

With two minutes left Carniny earned a corner and Balmer made it 4-3 to Carniny, but with the last kick of the ball Braga equalised.

With 15 minutes left, Carniny were awarded a penalty after Graffin was fouled.

The same player picked himself up but the keeper pulled off a great save and the visitors scored their third near the end.

Courtney added a mere consolation before Limavady added another right at the end.
