Northend boys fitting in well to Wakehurst set-up

The rapidly developing integration of Northend United Youth within the Wakehurst FC family took another step forward at the weekend.

A number of the U17s were invited by 1st Team Manager, Paul Muir, who has been closely monitoring their progress, to witness Championship match day experience with Wakehurst’s first team before their match against Ballymena Reserves at Mill Meadow on Saturday.

With seven of the Club’s U17 team panel now having represented Wakehurst Strollers in pre-season friendlies, the future certainly looks bright for this talented team of boys.

In the latest match, four of the U17s, Ryan McKenna, Robbie Dennison, Tom Campbell and Bradley Cairns, played in the Wakehurst Strollers 1-1 draw with Michelin on Saturday morning.

COERVER BOOST

Northend United are delighted to announce that Austin Speight, Coerver Coaching’s Director of Football in Ireland, will be taking opening night training sessions on Monday 3rd August 6.00pm to 7.30pm for the ambitious Wakehurst Academy Club at the Ballymena Showgrounds.

As part of the continuous working relationship built between Northend and Coerver Coaching, the open sessions are targeted at 6-14 year olds, and are free to anyone who could be considering joining the ambitious Club.

PRE-SEASON PLANS

Northend United teams are looking forward to getting back to pre-season training which will start week commencing Monday 4th August at the Ballymena Showgrounds Complex.

Times are as follows; 2007s – 2003s 6.00pm to 7.30pm; 2002s – 1999s 7.30pm to 9.00pm.
