Lurgan man appointedmanager of Down
Jim McCorry will take over from former Mourne boss James McCartan who has stepped aside, but the Down County board has agreed to let McCorry concentrate on his duties with his club side Kilcoo until the end of their season.
Jim McCorry, who in the nineties managed the Armagh Senior team along with his assistant John Morrison, has had several managerial positions in the club scene in County Down.

Hide AdDuring his early days Jim won an Intermediate Championship medal with St. Paul’s and was a member of the Teghnevan side which collected two Division 1 titles and also made two Championship final appearances.
The Lurgan native who now lives in Rostrevor and works for the Newry and Mourne Council is highly rated in his adopted County, Jim played on a St. Paul’s side during the 80s and 90s which included several County players Mickey Mc Donald, Dennis Seeley, Kieran McNally, Liam McCorry, and Paul McGlone all wore the Armagh colours with distinction.
