Club was saying it with flowers!

Ballymena Floral Art Club really '˜say it with flowers' and brought a smile to a few local faces last week.

The club participated in ‘The Lonely Bouquet and National Flower Arranging Day’ on May 6 by leaving a number of small bouquets throughout the area to be picked up and taken home by unsuspecting members of the public.

The purpose of these simple random acts of kindness was to bring smiles to people’s faces and to promote the love of flowers and floral art.

One of the lonely bouquets, placed at Ardeevin, was found by Yvonne McDowell who contacted the club to say: “Found this lovely lonely bouquet outside my work this morning. What a lovely surprise to brighten up the day. Thank you Ballymena Floral Art Club.”

Cara Dale, having found another bouquet, contacted the Club to say: “Came across your lovely bouquet today here in People’s Park. A lovely idea. I did not take them home however but I wanted to drop a message to say it made me smile. I honestly thought it was a memorial bouquet so when I read the message it brightened my morning.”

A third bouquet placed in Gracehill Square was picked up by a delighted Gary Gordon from Ahoghill.

Ballymena Floral Art’s new programme of events will commence on Monday 19 September in Michelin Athletic Club at 7.30pm.
